So after another sterling day of work, with the cast and the fab Ros and Sam, we are looking forward to sharing the play with our audience tomorrow and getting feedback. This is such a useful process, and having use of The Lab at the Octagon has been completely fantastic – it is such a lovely space and everyone there has been so helpful and welcoming, we have really enjoyed our time there. If you’re coming along to the sharing, see you at 3pm – if not, watch out for…read more
Today was a long old day! We have been working very hard on the script, getting sections up on its feet, looking at the characters journeys and story arc. It is tricky to try and get so much done in just four days, but then again you could spend four weeks in there and still feel like you needed more time! It is a really useful process though and it means that we can get idea of the work we need to do towards full production. We’re getting there!
We had a great day in the Lab at the Octagon today – read through the script, made some changes, got sections up on its feet, cast were great, Octagon was great – and a big thank you to Olly and Ben for making us feel so welcome. It is lovely to be able to work in such a great space and to have the time to work with such a lovely talented bunch of people!
We had a great day working in the Lime offices (thanks Lime guys) on the script, working on some final thoughts before we get into the rehearsal room tomorrow. I am writing this as I print off scripts, and we are so excited to be working with such a great bunch of actors and techs. The filming last week was also brilliant, Gino picked a stellar cast for our scripted reality sections, using all of our research as well as the young actors’ own experience to punctuate the world of…read more
It’s only a week to go before we get to play in The Lab at the Octagon in Bolton – and we have a lovely group of people to work with: Rosina Carbone, Amy Gavin, Andrew Pollard and Reuben Johnson. We have a script but we’re hoping to do some improvisation around it and be able to share with a small audience at the end of the week. We are also filming this week with the fantastic Gino Evans for the multimedia aspects – it is all coming together! Also,…read more
We are very excited to announce our next stage of development which will be in February at the Octagon in Bolton – many thanks to the creative team there for being so welcoming and accommodating to us! If you would like to come along to that, then please leave a comment here or email us. We will be announcing our cast soon –…read more
We are very excited that we have secured funding for the next stage of our new play, The Value of Nothing. Arts Council England, Lime (Arts & Health) and Edge Hill University have all agreed to fund the next stage, with The Octagon Theatre in Bolton supporting us with space and time. For this stage we are hoping to bring together a cast to look at the play and develop it a little further and then to hold a couple of scratch performances in January 2016. If these are successful,…read more
After the success we had with Project XXX, Paul Hine and Kim Wiltshire have just spent three days at The Edge Arts Centre in Chorlton working on our new play The Value of Nothing with four fantastic actors – Chloe Wade, Chris Hollinshead, Reuben Johnson and Holly Kavanagh – and multimedia artist Mark Haig. We worked on some major rewrites, and had a rehearsed reading on the afternoon of Friday 17th April with some fab people who came along and really helped us out! The next stage is to look at some scratch performances…read more
We are still working on the development phase of The Value of Nothing. We have completed 6 workshops with Mr One Million, working with artists Mark Haig and Freya Lund to facilitate those, and we are currently working towards some development days in April, with a rehearsed reading of the play at the end of those days – more info on that as soon as we have it – including the potential cast for the development.
